Fire Safety Management

Building management has the responsibility to minimise the risk of fire and protect the lives of occupants as set out in Article 11 of the Regulatory reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Management must carry out regular fire risk assessments, implement safety procedures and ensure that these procedures are kept up to date to comply with statutory requirements. Fire safety management requires implementation, control, monitoring and review of fire safety standards within a premises which is a requirement under current fire safety law. A Fire safety Management Plan should describe arrangements for effectively managing fire safety so as to prevent a fire occurring, and in the event of a fire, to protect people and property.
